Football Season Kicks Off Frustrations for Fantasy Football Fans

As the first Sunday of football season kicked off, some fans were left super frustrated trying to see how their teams were doing. ESPN’s popular Fantasy Football app and website were both down. The problems started around 10 am and weren’t fixed until almost 4 pm. Since ESPN set a record with about 94.4 million users last season, the issue translated to a whole lot of angst and internet rebuffing.

What Is Fantasy Football?

Fantasy football is a game in which participants pick their team from the best players in the NFL. As the players play in actual games, fantasy football participants watch their stats generate fantasy points for the made up team. Knowing the actual scores and stats is important for fantasy football players, so having the website glitch up right on the first Sunday of football season was a poor start for fans.
